Death of My Darkness

Anyone who has ever battled depression, addiction, and been in a toxic relationship has been told a million times that in order to move forward, they have to change the environment and people in their lives. I stopped talking to people I had my entire life because I couldn’t disassociate them and the darkness. I hated the darkness they brought to my life. I purged everything dark and negative out of my life, one piece at a time. Not only to save my own life, but to be the mom my daughter deserved and the darkness had robbed from her. Collecting Afternoons

No one understands as well as we do how hard it can be to put up with our family. We know that we struggle to deal with each other and asking a stranger to not only accept our messed up ways but to get along with us is a lot. At a certain point, my brother admitted that he knew if he and his ex stayed together, the relationship would always suffer because of our inability to get along.

For now, I intend to take those afternoons as they come. I want to remember the gold and silver days because the next one may not be so peaceful. Not that our storms aren’t a wonder to behold, mind you. But it can’t rain all the time. Continue reading Collecting Afternoons

A Witchling’s Adventure

I came up with the idea recently of writing a story featuring my niece as the main character that explains some of the basic tenets of witchcraft. The reason being is that she started to ask questions of my sister and I about our faith. And I understand that explaining religion to a 7 year old can be kind of confusing.
